I’d almost always rather be fishing than whatever thing I may be doing at all times. There’s just something so serene and then exciting about fishing and being one with nature outside.

I definitely had that in mind when I bought a house on the lake in my hometown. A lot of times I’ll just sit out on our pier and fish, but I like to go out more in our fishing boat and fish instead.

My brother Terry will come with me a lot on Saturday and Sunday mornings and then we’ll go and eat a big lunch together at our favorite diner. A few weekends ago when we were out on the lake, I was trying to quietly tell him a story about something that happened at work that week. He got irritated with me and told me not to talk so loud. I tried to talk quieter and then he said that maybe I should get my hearing checked if I thought that was quiet. I was offended at first but took his advice my looking up miracle ear locations online that night.

I ended up buying some hearing aids and now I like to badger Terry about talking too loud on the water.
